I totally misunderstood the beautician’s orders who asked me to be ‘palms down’ for a spray tan – I’m now mortified
A WOMAN was left embarrassed, to say the least, when she misunderstood her beautician’s instructions when getting a spray tan.
Lindsay James shared the story on TikTok and revealed she was still mortified by the ordeal.
Taking to TikTok, Lindsay recalled the first time she got a spray tan.
Obviously, Lindsay had no idea what to do when getting a spray tan so she didn’t quite understand the beautician’s orders.
In the TikTok video, she wrote: “The first time I got a spray tan she told me to turn around and put my palms to the floor.”
Lindsay thought the beautician was instructing her to turn around and put her palms on the floor – but she was wrong.
She continued: “I bent over buck nekked (naked) in front of this poor woman and she said: “No I meant… stand up straight.. but face the palms of your hand down.””
Lindsay was left mortified as she realised the beautician just wanted to get the back of her arms tanned.
“Post spray tan embarrassment,” she captioned the post.
The video has since gone viral with almost a million views and over 14,000 likes.
People quickly took to the comments section of the comical video.
Many said they would have done the same thing, while others were left in hysterics over Lindsay’s blunder.
One wrote: “I would’ve done the same out of reflex?? It’s like yoga instructions.”
Another person commented: “I’m freaking crying. This is great.”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I would’ve done the same.”
