14 people have been arrested in connection with an assault that took place in a village in Dharwad district. The incident happened on January 25th, and the victims were allegedly assaulted with iron rods by a group of people who were angry after the victim, a Dalit, rode his motorcycle in front of their house. Mudukavva, the mother of the victim, said that while her son was returning from a fair, a group of people waylaid and assaulted him. The group then entered the victim's house and assaulted his father and mother. The victims are being treated in Dharwad, while the others in the family have reportedly taken shelter at a relative's house. The investigation is still ongoing.
