A gangster named Arshdeep Singh, also known as Arsh Dala, is suspected of operating an extortion gang in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. 50 Punjab Police Commandos have been provided to the Ludhiana Rural Police to specifically deal with Arshdeep and his gang. On Thursday, Arshdeep was injured in an encounter with the police. The gangster identified as Jagtar Singh Jagga of Feruke Village in Ferozepur and his accomplice had come to collect extortion money from a trader in Jagraon who had received an extortion call from Manila Police Officials. Even after the encounter, the miscreants believed to be those who had called up the trader before contacted him again to say that what he did providing a tipoff to police about the gang members was wrong. A senior police officer said they strongly suspect the involvement of Arshdeep's gang in the incident besides this trader they suspect that the gang might have called up more such people in Jagraon. Jagtar also confessed that his handlers had assured him that he would get a certain amount from the extortion money.
