‘Jal Jeevan Mission a boon for rural women’

The gumla jal jeevan mission is a scheme by the government to ensure potable water to every household. This was stated by Rahul Sharma, the joint secretary of the center's ayush ministry and and incharge of the mission in the district who visited kamdara block to review the har ghar jal' project on friday. He was accompanied by the gumla district administrative officials. Sharma said "the jal jeevan mission is an ambitious scheme of the union government. It envisages to provide quality water to every household. Much progress has been made in execution of the scheme in the past four to five months." The rural women are happy to get water without having to travel miles like in earlier days. The secretary said and added "we have to involve the community especially the village sanitation commitee, the jal sahiyas' and the mukhiyas'. to solve the day-to-day practical hassles on the ground." A beneficiary of kumhartoli lilawati devi said "now we don't need to toil hard to fetch water in containers on our heads from faroff places. Getting water at home saves time and efforts and we can concentrate on other household and financial work."
