Apple’s The Big Door Prize is an adaptation of a big-hearted novel about Small Town USA
M.O. Walsh's 2020 novel The Big Door Prize spins a fantastical yarn about a new machine that shows up one day in the grocery store of a Louisiana town -- a machine that looks like a phone booth and can tell anyone who forks over two dollars and a cheek swab what the rest of their life has in store for them. If you haven't given the book a try yet, you'll get another chance to enjoy this story come March in the form of an Apple TV+ adaptation of Walsh's novel starring Chris O'Dowd.
