Palo Alto: Woman killed in single-vehicle motorcycle crash
A motorcyclist died after she drove into a pole in single-vehicle collision late Thursday in Palo Alto, according to authorities.
Several calls into the Palo Alto Police Department at about 10:15 p.m. reported a motorcyclist down on San Antonio Road at Nita Avenue. Investigators found that the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on San Antonio Road when she left the roadway and struck a pole.
First responders took the victim, a woman in her twenties, to a hospital. She was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m. Friday.
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner later identified the woman as 21-year-old Leslie Buenrostro of East Palo Alto.
Investigators were still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
