Kate Ferdinand opened up about motherhood during an appearance at parenting exhibition The Baby Show in London
KATE Ferdinand has revealed she had a ‘mini breakdown’ and ‘lost herself’ after becoming a mum.
The former Towie star, 31, is expecting her second baby, a little girl with football legend Rio, 44.
Kate has bravely opened up about the ups and downs of pregnancy and motherhood at The Baby Show in London.
Host Zoe asked how she coped with her blended family with Rio and his children, who he shared with late wife Rebecca Ellison, who died in 2015 from cancer.
Kate spoke honestly about how she has focused so much on making sure all the kids were alright that she didn’t have any time for herself.
She said: “I physically felt like I was having a mini-breakdown and I didn’t even know how to make time for me. I lost myself, I couldn’t even dress myself.”
Kate revealed the birth of her son Cree has brought the family closer as a unit although there were initial worries.”
She said: “When Cree came we were a bit nervous because he’s my first biological child so we didn’t know how he would fit into the mix, but it’s just been great and has brought us all closer,’ she explained.
Meanwhile just yesterday Kate showed off her “fast-growing” baby bump today as she completed a pilates session at home.
The mum-to-be dressed all in black for her gym session and snapped a makeup-free mirror selfie in side profile.
She wrote on Instagram: “Bump growing nicely, I remember when I was pregnant with Cree I was so worried about how big my bump would get, now I’m just grateful to be growing a healthy baby! This bump is growing fast but I love it.”
Earlier this week Kate revealed the sex of her second baby with husband Rio Ferdinand.
The former Towie star, 31, is expecting a little girl – and made the exciting announcement on her podcast, Blended.
Former footballer Rio, 44, joined her on the special episode, and she told how they had both guessed the sex correctly.
The couple revealed step-daughter Tia had been “praying” for a younger sister to take care of – and her wish will come true.
Ex-Manchester United ace Rio said: “I wanted a girl, I knew it was a girl, but I actually wanted a girl.
“I wanted boys at the beginning.”
He added: “That’s me I’m done now, a five a side team.”
Kate married Rio in 2019, and the pair already share young son Cree, two.
The TV star is also step-mum to Rio’s three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11
