I wanted to see how many samples I could get at Costco & whether it’s true there’s a best time to go for a free meal
EVERYONE loves a free food sample.
And one woman decided to see just how many she could nab during a trip to wholesaler favourite Costco.
Dorian took to her TikTok page to share a video of her store experience, as she began: “I’m not sure if UK Costco is going to be as generous as the American Costco with giving out little free food samples.
“However, we’re going to go in and we’re going to see if we can get some, if any.”
The first thing she managed to get was a piece of cod, which came in a little polystyrene cup.
Knocking it back in one, she exclaimed that it was really hot, before giving it a five out of 10, insisting that it “needs a little bit of salt and pepper”.
Next up was a bacon baguette, which Dorian gave a seven out of 10, as she said: “I haven’t seen anyone else serving food so I’ve got a feeling that’s going to be it.”
But luckily she managed to get a few more samples, with a prawn gyoza going down so well that she even picked up a pack to go home with her, rating them a nine out of 10.
“And that was it!” she concluded.
In the comments section on the video, one person wrote: “You only get free samples on the weekends in UK Costcos.”
In response, Dorian shared another video of herself returning to Costco on a Tuesday, as she said: “I’ve come hungry, so I really hope this isn’t the case.”
Once inside the store, she said: “It looks like I can see someone who’s giving out some crisps, this is a good sign.”
She was unimpressed with the Doritos dupe, but moved on to get a little pot of Yaki Soba, which she had to knock back in one after accidentally dropping her fork.
“That’s banging!” she exclaimed of the noodle dish.
A raspberry and elderflower kombucha was up next, which she wasn’t overly keen on, followed by some blazing king shrimp.
“Bit spicy for me!” she exclaimed.
Concluding her video, she referred to the comment she’d received as she said: “You lied to me, we get food in the week as well!”
“Love a Costco sample!” one person wrote in the comments section.
“Some days you can get enough for a full lunch! Hot dogs are good too.”
“Not true, I work there, it’s everyday but til 4,” another wrote.
