More showery weather again today but there was a break in the clouds so I grabbed a couple of pics for you. As you can see, surface conditions were pretty smooth in the light WSW breeze and the 1.3-metre 9-10 sec SE swell was making for the occasional waist-high set at the point and closer to chest-high on the bigger ones along the beach. However, it still looks like the shutdown-to-makeable ratio is not good. RealSurf HQ saw 40mm of rain yesterday and around mid-afternoon, there was a text message from Sydney Water about a partially treated bypass event at Warriewood. Plus, Beachwatch’s report says that pollution is likely at most beaches today. Given that there’s a 95% of another 3-20mm or rain today, and 3-20mm tomorrow, those pollution levels look to continue through the work week. Kinda too bad, because we should have swell across the period and the wind could be reasonable for the early sessions. I’m skipping it until the water’s clean again.
Go well with your Monday!
Weather Situation
Moderate south to southeasterly winds associated with a trough moving along the central waters will ease and turn more easterly as a high pressure system near the Bight extends a ridge across New South Wales. The trough may linger over the northern waters for the next few days, while the high slowly moves east to the Tasman Sea, causing winds to tend easterly then northerly across central and southern parts.
Forecast for Monday until midnight
