Furious Tempting Fortune fans all say the same thing as contestants blow £3,700 on silent disco and coffee

TEMPTING Fortune fans have been left in agreement after one group of contestants blew almost £4,000 on a silent disco and coffee.

Viewers of the Channel 4 reality show were left fuming after watching Carolynne’s Group B splash £3,700 of the prize pot on the two ‘temptations’.

Retired nurse Carolynne, 65, and graphic designer Lani, 33, first claimed they couldn’t resist a coffee and a pastry, at a cost of £200.

The same pair then encouraged the four others in their group to spend a further £3,500 on a silent disco in the South African forest they are trekking through.

They then splashed a further £9,000 on three double beds in a glamping hotel, complete with hot tea, biscuits and chocolate.

In contrast, James’ group A resisted all the temptations in a bid to save as much as they could of the £300,000 shared prize fund.

They were then sent to the glamping hotel, where they discovered Group B living the life of luxury – and tempers flew.

But taking to Twitter, fans of the show branded the scenes “fake” and accused bosses of setting up the drama.

One tweeted: “Nah not buying this #TemptingFortune, i call fake.”

Another added: “I’m starting to think the whole show is a setup and they’re all actors tbh. No one can give in this easily to simple stuff like coffee, surely?”

A third said: “This show has turned into bull**** it’s starting to look more and more like a set up.”

And a fourth chimed in: “This is all a bit staged me thinks.”

Tempting Fortune is presented by Paddy McGuinness and features 12 strangers facing a gruelling 18-day trek across the South African wilderness.

The contestants were initially provided with basic equipment and supplies to help them on their tortuous journey.

But they have since been faced with a series of temptations along the way – and they all have a huge price tag, with the money coming straight out of the shared £300,000 prize fund.
