Stalker who terrorised OnlyFans model, 23, by breaking into her home and ambushing her in Ibiza is jailed AGAIN
A SERIAL stalker who turned an OnlyFans model’s life into a “living hell” has been caged for a second time.
Weirdo Jamie Spears, 34, spied on Abby Furness through her bedroom window and even followed her to Ibiza.
The menace also ambushed her with a bottle of champagne on her birthday and relentlessly tailed the 23-year-old actress and singer around her hometown of Brighton.
During his stalking campaign he lurked behind bushes and parked cars, and wore bizarre disguises in a bid to conceal himself.
After obsessed Spears was discovered skulking in her garden shed in February 2021 he was slapped with a Stalking Prevention Order.
But the creep has repeatedly breached the order and has now been jailed.
Hove Crown Court heard Spears was on a “quest to find true love” and didn’t understand his behaviour was unacceptable.
On December 9 last year he entered New England Street in Brighton – a road he was banned from visiting.
He was arrested by police and on January 3 this year, while still under investigation, walked into a neighbouring street from which he is also banned.
Carl Wheeler, prosecuting, said Spears behaviour towards Abby – which included turning up at her parents house in Kent – had been serious.
He said: “Sending her messages even though they did not know each other on a personal level, turning up at her parents house in Kent on her birthday…
“Continuously loitering around her home and even going to Ibiza where she was working.”
Mr Wheeler told how the 34-year-old stalker has four convictions for 11 offences, all relating to breaches of the same stalking protection order.
After an earlier hearing 5ft tall actress and OnlyFans model, Abby, now 23, said her life “will never be the same” after menace Spears turned into “a living hell”.
She also claimed the stress of her stalking ordeal led to the breakdown of her relationship with her boyfriend.
She previously said: “It’s no exaggeration when I say my life will never be the same.
“He followed all my friends on social media, he messaged me constantly, and he turned up at clubs I was working in where he’d stand in the crowd just staring at me.
“He’d get very close to me and told me he loved me, that he wanted me to live with him. He was so odd. He just wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
She told how Spears followed her to Ibiza where she had a three-month job as a dancer and fire artist.
She spotted Spears outside a bar staring at her through the window and then followed her and her friends to their holiday home.
Spears fled the party island after he was confronted by a group of Abby’s friends angry at his behaviour.
However on her return to Brighton, the stalker continued to pursue the model, using disguises to follow her in the street.
After Spears was discovered lurking in her garden shed in February 2021 he was slapped with a Stalking Prevention Order.
But after breaching it twice Spears was jailed for 14 months.
But Hove Crown Court heard after his release from jail Spears continued to pursue the model and dancer and was arrested again in January.
Spears had continued to breach the order despite wearing a GPS tracker to monitor his movements.
The court heard Spears had recently been diagnosed with autism which meant it as difficult for him to understand his behaviour was unacceptable.
Nick Hamblin, defending, said after Spears lost his job at Gatwick Airport in 2020, “his life descended into chaos” before he “failed in his quest” to find true love.
Sentencing Spears to 20-weeks in prison, Judge Amanda Kelly said he had embarked on a “very disturbing” course of behaviour.
She said she accepted he suffered from autism for which the court would seek to offer help.
How you can get help
Women's Aid has this advice for victims and their families:
- Always keep your phone nearby.
- Get in touch with charities for help, including the Women’s Aid live chat helpline and services such as SupportLine.
- If you are in danger, call 999.
- Familiarise yourself with the Silent Solution, reporting abuse without speaking down the phone, instead dialing “55”.
- Always keep some money on you, including change for a pay phone or bus fare.
- If you suspect your partner is about to attack you, try to go to a lower-risk area of the house – for example, where there is a way out and access to a telephone.
- Avoid the kitchen and garage, where there are likely to be knives or other weapons. Avoid rooms where you might become trapped, such as the bathroom, or where you might be shut into a cupboard or other small space.
