Channel 4 in schedule shake-up as beloved show extended by half an hour every day
A BELOVED show has been extended by half an hour every day in a big Channel 4 schedule shake-up.
The broadcaster has made changes to its daytime schedule – but fans can rest assured nothing has been replaced.
Instead, they’ve announced Steph’s Packed Lunch will now begin from 12pm each weekday.
The show will continue to run until 2:10pm meaning fans will get an extra half hour of Steph McGovern on their screens.
Countdown, which is presented by Rachel Riley and Colin Murray will follow directly afterwards as normal.
Steph previously worked at the BBC and was a regular presenter on BBC Breakfast.
However, the 40-year-old departed the show in 2020 to front her own programme.
The show broadcasts from Leeds Dock and features interviews with celebrity guests.
It also tackles life stories and pressing consumer affairs news.
With it being half term, the show has taken a break from the Channel 4 schedules.
It returns on Monday, April 17 in its new timeslot of 12pm.
Steph previously had to deny the show was going to be axed after one episode was apparently watched by nobody.
Reports the show was to close came after Barb viewing figures revealed that at 12.56pm on one September day not a single viewer tuned in, according to The Mirror.
One fan keen to know the truth took to Twitter to ask Steph herself about the rumours, writing: “Is your show closing?”, to which the TV presenter replied with a stern: “Nope”.
Channel 4 also hit back against reports of the zero ratings, with a spokesperson saying: “On Tuesday Steph’s Packed Lunch attracted an average audience of 87,000 viewers from 12.30pm – 2.10pm and drew 204,000 at its peak.”
