BBC Breakfast fans rip into Carol Kirkwood weather blunder as live report takes baffling turn
BBC BREAKFAST fans have ripped into Carol Kirkwood after her weather blunder took a baffling turn.
The presenter, 60, was back once again giving viewers the latest forecast as the outlook continues to improve.
As the clock struck 8am Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst brought viewers the headlines.
Sally then appeared on screen to tease the upcoming forecast – but viewers were quick to spot a blunder.
The former Strictly contestant was standing in front of a map of Spain while giving details of the weather in the UK.
She said: “Good morning it’s a cold and frosty start to the day for many of us today.
“But a fair bit of sunshine away from the north and west where we’ve got thicker cloud and some rain.
“That rain moving a little further southwards and eastwards tomorrow and then the next day but as we head into the Bank Holiday weekend for many it will be settled until when more of us will see some rain.
“I’ll have all the details later in the programme.”
But her teaser left viewers baffled and some ripped into the beloved presenter on social media.
One person said: “Carol discussing the UK weather with a graphic of Spain behind her ???”
A second wrote: “Carol, going to Spain for your holidays? Weather map boo-boo!”
“Does she know that’s the not the United Kingdom behind her,” remarked a third.
While a fourth simply said: “Oh dear.”
Jon and Nina were back together on the red sofa as Sally Nugent continues to be missing from the show.
Sally, 52, and Jon, 53, typically present the show together from Mondays to Wednesdays.
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
