I was bored of my beige kitchen so gave it an upgrade using buys from B&M, B&Q & Ikea…I can’t believe it’s the same room
A WOMAN has revealed that she gave her beige, bland kitchen the ultimate makeover, for just £90.
Young mum Clare explained that she used cheap buys from B&M, B&Q and Ikea and explained that if she can do a DIY transformation, then anyone can.
Posting on TikTok under the username @naijascot, Clare shared a quick clip showing off her epic kitchen makeover, giving her followers a look at the kitchen before she got to work.
The kitchen was fairly basic, with beige cupboards and not much decor.
However, she then showed her space after its epic makeover, leaving many open-mouthed.
Clare overhauled her space with paint, vinyl wrap and stunning accessories.
She gave her plain cupboards a green makeover and added gold handles for a modern feel.
She used vinyl wrap for a marble-look worktop and then decorated her space with a black rail, which she used to hang up her new mugs.
She also had a faux eucalyptus plant, a new black sink and black accessories too.
She nabbed loads from B&M – including her black baskets, mugs which were just £3 each and a metal spray.
She also went to B&Q and got paint for the cupboards.
As well as this, she got her rail and hooks from Ikea and her cupboard handles from Screwfix.
Her clip has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 49.3k views.
It has 2,282 likes, 142 comments and 46 shares.
Social media users were left open-mouthed at the epic kitchen transformation.
One person said: “I love it! It reminds me of Harrods.”
Another added: “Looks amazing.”
A third commented: “Omg I’m in love.”
Whilst someone else noted: “Stunning and such a statement.”
In a follow-up clip, Clare gave further details of how she did her budget transformation.
She explained: “Here is the long awaited video of how I managed to transform my crack den looking kitchen into a gorgeous green sanctuary for £90.
“I would describe my DIY skills to be intermediate at best so if I can do this, you absolutely can too.
“To begin I went in with sugar soap to get rid of build up of grease and grime, you have to do this before painting – this was roughly a couple of quid from B&M.
“I would advise going in with a sanding block, again from B&M for a couple of quid, just so you can make a more matte surface for your paint to stick to.
“Now that everything is prepped I went in with the first coat – this is the Valspar kitchen paint in the shade ‘Nighty Night’ from B&Q and oh my god, it is beautiful.
“For the handles I purchased them in silver and sprayed them because it actually worked out cheaper.
“The spray, again from B&M, for £6.
“If you’re on a tight budget and don’t have many tools, I would highly recommend this little drill from B&M for £10.
“Next up was the black sink – to start I went in with sanding paper. You have to prime the sink first, spray the sink with primer and then two coats on black paint.
“The black and gold spray paints are actually for outdoor barbecues – you can purchase these from B&M.
“The next job was to vinyl wrap the counter tops – the vinyl wrap was £6 a roll from B&M and I got it in the shade vinyl grey.
“The tiles in the kitchen are fairly new but the grout was a little bit discoloured so I went in with this grout pen, again from B&M for a couple of quid.
“Last but not least, the accessories – the cup rail is from Ikea from £12, it comes with hooks and is extremely easy to assemble.
“Everything else is from B&M, again, you just can’t beat their prices.”
