I swapped shopping at Aldi for Farmfoods because the price has shot up – I was stunned by how much money I saved
A WOMAN was stunned after she decided to switch shopping at one supermarket for another and saved a tonne of money.
Alice, from the UK decided to visit Farmfoods instead of Aldi, her regular stomping ground for groceries.
Taking to her TikTok account, @alice96x, she said: “I’ve just done my food shop in Farmfoods, and I never usually shop there.
“I usually go to Aldi, Lidl, but everything is getting more and more expensive and the quality is just not that great.”
The first thing Alice picked up in her shopping haul was the new Redbull apricot and Strawberry energy drink, one for her and her boyfriend.
She was stunned when a can only cost 79p when Red Bull usually sells for around £1.80 in other stores.
Next, the bargain hunter purchased a pack of four Napolina branded passata for just 79p, tomato and mascarpone sauce for 59p and two packs of the pasta for £1.
Of course, Alice had to pick up some sweets which were just 49p, as well as a curry sauce mix for 99p.
The foodie also bagged a deal of three stir fry sauces for just £1 so picked up the chow mein, sweet and sour and sweet chilli and garlic packs.
She also bagged some Amoy noodles which were on sale for three for £1, however, there was only one pack left on the shelf by the time she got there so she bagged them for 39p.
Alice also picked up 2kg of potatoes for £1.25, and two packs of frozen Mayflower curry sauce for £1.10.
Moving on to freezer goodies, Alice found loads of branded items for a bargain price.
She bagged 12 onion bhajis for £1.39, vegetable spring rolls for £1 and vegetable pakoras for £1.
The foodie also picked up some Farmfoods pork kievs with chilli cheese for £2.99, McCans wedges for £1.25 and a bag of popcorn chicken, chicken nuggets and chicken dippers for 69p each.
Stocking up the freezer, Alice also grabbed a bag of McCans chips for £1.75 and a Good Fellas cheese pizza for £1.99 and three Ben and Jerry’s ice lollies for £1.
Alice also picked up two bottles of coke which were two for £3, a rump Steak for £2.99, Gammon steaks for £2.49, Heinz vegan mayo for 59p and vegan aioli sauce fir 29p
Lastly, Alice picked up some Garlic sauce for £1.09p and a multipack of skips for £3.
The total cost of her shop came to £43.24 and Alice was seriously shocked by how cheap it was.
She said: “I was quite shocked at that to be fair, thought it was quite good considering like a lot of it is branded stuff.”
Alice added that it didn’t have the best selection of fresh produce but was well worth visiting for branded items for the cupboard and freezer.
The video has since gone viral with over 56k views and over 1,000 likes.
People quickly took to the comments agreeing that supermarket prices have shot up and were impressed by her haul.
One person wrote: “I think Aldi has shot up in price!”

“Wish I had one near, I’d love to shop there,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “This is so good!”
