I’ve been getting Botox for 20 years but finally stopped… here’s what it actually does to you long term
A NURSE has revealed what happens are you stop using Botox after a period of time and it’s not what you might think.
A woman who goes by @nursebblay shared the revelation in a TikTok online.
She said she had been using Botox for 20 years and had recently stopped.
She said: “Have you ever wondered what happens when a person uses Botox for 20 years and then stops?”
“Wonder no more this is it. Look. Wrinkles in movement only.”
The nurse said she stopped taking Botox last October so now all the Botox she had gotten was basically gone.
“I stopped using it in October so it’s pretty much gone.”
Since then she has had very little movement in the muscles in her face. She tried lifting her eyebrows for her followers.
“But you notice I don’t have muscle movement because I haven’t used them [her muscles] in so long.”
She explained that since removing the Botox her muscle movement would slowly start coming back over time.
“So now I’m basically rebuilding my muscles. It’s starting to come back, I can tell, but not all the way back yet.”
The nurse compared the process to removing a cast from a limb.

“Muscles will rebuild quickly. Like when you remove a cast.”
“The muscles have to rebuild strength from lack of use.”
The 55 year old mum also confessed in another video she used to lie about her age, until one thing made decided to be honest with others and herself.
She said: “I used to lie about my age until I realised everytime I like about my age you are basically telling yourself that you’re old.”
“That it is embarrassing to be who you are, you are not worthy of how you look. So I don’t lie anymore, I don’t need to.”
The Botox video gained over 350,000 views, many users found the information really useful with some saying they didn’t feel they needed any beauty alterations.
One user said: “I have been using it since age 35, I am now 51 and I haven’t had any Botox since Sept or Oct & I’m still really smooth and without movement also!”
Another said: “Thanks for being honest about Botox. I never used Botox. I just want to age gracefully.”
Another viewer said: “I naturally don’t really use my forehead muscles to move my eyebrows and the off chance I do— the muscle shakes from disuse.”
