Social media reacts as UConn men’s basketball team wins fifth national championship
The UConn men’s basketball team’s title run is complete.
The Huskies won their fifth national championship with a resounding 76-59 victory over San Diego State on Monday and became the fifth team since the bracket expanded in 1985 to win all six NCAA Tournament games by double-digits.
Adama Sanogo finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the final and was named the Most Outstanding Player. Tristen Newton also recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Here is how social media reacted to the victory.
Congratulations to @UConnMBB and @dhurley15. You guys worked so hard for this and we could not be more proud.

So awesome! Watched it with my 11 year old. He was fired up. That 3 by Hawkins to stop the late SDSU run was the dagger. A dominating run. https://t.co/rkipqOjWKu

Congrats to #UCONN —most memorable game I ever attended with Dad was 77-74 #NationalChampionship upset of Duke in ‘99 in Tampa. (Also ‘Cuse fans, that’s your old QB, beater of ND, my brother Cameron Dantley.) pic.twitter.com/7zDlJLxC9s
