Here's how Phil Mickelson has performed since joining LIV Golf
Phil Mickelson was the most well-known golfer to leave the PGA Tour for the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league and he exited the Tour in the most shameless way possible.
But while Mickelson may have accepted a contract he’ll likely never be able to buy his way out of, joining LIV Golf hasn’t exactly helped his game whatsoever.
Masters Leaderboard: Live leaderboard, Schedule, Tee times
Take a look at how he’s performed in a league that plays only three rounds per tournament and does not have any cuts:
2023
- Mayakoba: 72-75-67 — 27th place
- Tucson: 70-67-75 — 32nd place
- Orlando: has 70-76-67 — 41st place
2022
- London: 69-75-76 — 34th place
- Portland: 75-75-76 — 42nd place
- Bedminster: 75-73-71 — 35th place
- Boston: 74-69-69 — 40th place
- Chicago: 70-74-66 — 8th place
- Bangkok: 69-69-69 — 17th place
- Jeddah: 67-71-71 — 37th place
The No. 425th player in the world is only in the 2023 Masters field because of the lifetime invitation extended to previous winners. That’ll keep him returning to Augusta as long as he likes — but it won’t guarantee him anything more than two rounds before the cut.
As play begins at the Masters on Thursday, Mickelson is +20000 to win a fourth green jacket.
