Man narrowly avoids launderette explosion caused by charger left in tumble dryer
This is the terrifying moment a man calmly walked out of a launderette before it burst into flames.
Dramatic footage shows the tumble dryer suddenly exploding, but the fortunate customer leaves moments before it erupts into a fireball.
The explosion was so forceful it destroyed the front of the building in A Coruna, north-western Spain, ripping the wall away and smashing the window.
Local media reported a lighter charger was left among the pile of clothes, causing the explosion.
But it is currently unclear who left the electronic device in the wash.
Firefighters and other emergency services were deployed to the scene to put out the fire.
No injuries were reported, and police are currently investigating the incident.
In France, a woman and her seven children died in a house fire believed to have been caused by a faulty tumble dryer.
The only survivor was the father of the children.
It is thought the family may have put the dryer on in the early hours of the morning, when electricity is cheaper.
