DAILY NEWS TOP 10 SOFTBALL RANKINGS

1. Oaks Christian (15-0-1): The Lions have shown no drop off since Cheyenne Coyle took over as head coach, starting Marmonte League play 10-0 thanks to Rylee McCoy, Justin Lambert and Anahi Arreola from the plate. Sophomore pitcher Peyton Lavin is 5-0 from the circle.

2. Moorpark (12-0): The Musketeers are 3-0 in the Coastal Canyon League and are led by standout pitcher Madison Finnerty, who is 7-0 from the circle and has 54 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings. Driana Martinez leads the team in hits (24) and RBIs (19).

3. Sierra Canyon (6-2-1): The Trailblazers sit atop the Mission League after just two games, but it came by way of a 5-4 win over Notre Dame last Friday.  Izzy Mertes is doing damage from the plate while Hailey Shuler pitches and hits.

4. Notre Dame (11-3): The Southland’s biggest hitter, Ella Parker, resides in Sherman Oaks. Parker has nine homers and 17 RBIs in 30 at-bats. She’s been walked 20 times.

5. Westlake (15-3-1): The Warriors sit in second place behind Oaks Christian in the Marmonte League led by Kaylee Clarkson’s 28 RBIs on 24 hits. Kaitlyn Barstow is 6-1 this season from the pitcher’s circle with 65 strikeouts in 49 innings.

6. Granada Hills Charter (11-4): The Highlanders, who were just shutout by unbeaten Moorpark over the weekend, will embark on the West Valley League slate moving forward. Granada Hills is eyeing a league and City title with a crop of talented juniors and sophomores.

7. Louisville (10-3): The Royals are 2-1 in the Mission League. Bella Wellbaum has a team-high 26 hits and four doubles and Hayden Luderer has three of the team’s 12 homeruns this season. Cece Cellura has 79 strikeouts already in just 56 innings.

8. Burroughs (13-2): Burroughs is 4-0 and in first place of the Pacific League led by the senior pitching of Stevie Dabbadie, who’s 7-2 from the circle this season. The Bears have outscored their opponents 123-36 this year.

9. Valencia (12-4-1): The Vikings are 8-0 in the Foothill League. Hope Seper has shown great bat skills and baserunning notching eight doubles. Addison Snyder is the big bat with a team-high four homers. Sophomore pitcher Carly Kearns is 6-0.

10. El Camino Real (6-6): ECR has challenged itself with a tough nonleague schedule, playing non-City Section clubs heading into West Valley League play. The showdowns with Granada Hills are April 14 and May 3.
