[Women's Golf] Staver takes home first career KCAC Women's Golfer of the Week award
WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University freshman Ava Staver's first career individual title has resulted in her first KCAC Women's Golfer of the Week nod, the league office announced yesterday (Apr. 3). The KCAC Athlete of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Staver earned this honor after coming out on top in the Jinx Invitational last week with a score of 83-85-168 for the Falcons.
The 168 final score is the second best for Staver thus far, as the Highlands Ranch, Colo. native shot a 78-84-162 at the Evangel Fall Invitational (Oct. 10-11) in Springfield, Mo.
"I'm so proud of Ava and the hard work she has put into her game," said Friends women's golf coach Paul Howe.
Staver and the Falcons are currently competing in the Air Capital Classic at Crestview Country Club in Wichita.
