UPDATE: Some Harrah residents turned away at polls due to misunderstanding

After investigating, the City of Harrah has confirmed the reported information regarding voters being turned away is inaccurate.

The City says the incident in River Mist involved a particular street name that had been changed and the incident in Fall Creek was isolated to an individual who provided an incorrect address.

The City also noted that the First Baptist Church Newalla polling place has a list of registered voters on that street and will provide them with provisional ballots.

HARRAH, Okla. (KFOR) - Some residents of River Mist and Fall Creek additions were turned away at the polls on Tuesday due to a misunderstanding.

According to the City of Harrah, a misunderstanding regarding city limits and where they're located caused some voters to be turned away.

The City says it is working alongside the election board and polling places to solve the issue. Those who were turned away are asked to call the election board at 405-713-1515 and to stay tuned for more information as the problem is solved.

Officials say rumors have been circulating that voters within city limits are being turned away, but according to the City, the election board says that is not the case.

According to City officials, voters will receive a provisional ballot which counts just the same as the regular ballot. The City says everyone's votes will count and to ask for a provisional ballot if not provided with one.
