Five ways to keep kids entertained over the Easter holidays for free
KEEPING the kids entertained with fun activities over the Easter holidays can be a tricky task if you are on a tight budget.
But there are thousands of free days out to choose from, and you simply have to investigate what is happening in your area.
Here are some ideas on how to get out and have free fun this weekend.
FARMS: There are a host of farms across the country that offer a free or cheap visit.
Children will love getting up close to animals, and it’s educatrional.
St Werburghs City Farm in Bristol or Bill Quay Farm in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, are just two examples. To find one near you check online at daysoutonthefarm.co.uk.
FACEBOOK: You can always start searching for some Easter events through Facebook.
Go to the events tab under your profile and you can filter events according to preferences by location, date and categories — including family friendly suggestions.
LIBRARIES: A precious resource when trying to entertain children on a budget. It is easy to while away time picking out books to read.
But many libraries have toys and will also put on free events for children. It is well worth getting to know your nearby branch.
MUSEUMS: There are free-entry museums across the country, and more often than not they put on Easter activities for families, with details online.

IKEA: Head to the interiors superstore for a range of free events taking place, including an Easter egg hunt, colouring, face painting and food sampling.
