U.S. dollar dips amid weak economic data

NEW YORK, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar dropped in late trading on Tuesday as the latest U.S. data stoked concerns over an economic slowdown.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.5 percent to 101.5858.

In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.0953 U.S. dollars from 1.0895 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.2497 U.S. d
