George Herbert Stancer was an early pioneer of cycling and an early secretary of the Cyclists’ Touring Club (CTC). He was born in Pocklington. A series of rides from across the region converge on Burnby Hall Gardens, Pocklington for lunch.
The route from Otley will start from the Buttercross on Sunday 16 April 2022 at 09:00. Its about a 90 mile round trip. Pam Baxter will be at the Buttercross to register you on the ride from 08:40. On your return she will welcome you back at the Otley Cycle Club House with refreshments. The entry fee of £5 includes ‘free’ entry to Burnby Hall Gardens, where food and drink will be available.
