India’s Delhi Airport Ranked as World’s 9th Busiest in 2022
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has ranked as the ninth busiest airport in the world in 2022, with over 59 million travellers, according to Airport Council International (ACI) report.
According to a recent report released by the Airport Council International (ACI), it is said that Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has emerged as the ninth busiest airport in the world in 2022, with over 59 million passengers.
The report shows that Indian airports are better off than in previous years regarding ranking and traffic. According to the ACI report, Delhi Airport was 13th in 2021 and 17th in 2019, ranking 9th in 2022.
India and Dubai are the only airports ranked among the top lists from Asia.

According to ACI, the top 10 airports for total passenger traffic—representing 10% of the world’s traffic—saw an increase of 51.7% from 2021, equivalent to an 85.9% recovery from their 2019 performance.
Regarding domestic air travel, the report observed that India had experienced one of the fastest recoveries.
