India will use its G20 presidency to promote its digital transformation story and encourage digitisation in the Global South to improve citizens' lives. Four billion people in the world do not have a digital identity, and 2.5 billion lack a bank account, according to India's G20 sherpa Amitabh Kant. He said India had used digitisation to become a more productive and efficient economy and now aims to promote digital payments worldwide. Kant also highlighted the importance of multilateral financial institutions increasing credit flows to emerging markets and building a new action plan for global growth during India's G20 Presidency.
