Dow Jones gains 98 points during choppy day on Wall Street

NEW YORK, New York - Stocks were mixed on American markets Tuesday as investors awaited the latest CPI reading, which will be published on Wednesday.

"You're seeing renewed interest in cyclical stocks," Robert Pavlik, senior portfolio manager at Dakota Wealth in Fairfield, Connecticut told Reuters news agency Tuesday. "There seems to be some interest in these stocks heading into tomorrow's inflation report."
