BBC Breakfast fans gush over ‘shining’ Carol Kirkwood as she rocks chic nautical dress
BBC Breakfast fans have gushed over ‘shining’ Carol Kirkwood as she rocked a chic nautical dress.
Carol, 60, was once again on hand to give BBC Breakfast viewers the latest weather updates for around the UK.
She did so in a figure-hugging navy dress which featured a round neck, nautical style neckline and three quarter length sleeves.
While Carol’s report detailed April showers and winds, her sunny demeanour and pretty ensemble sparked a wave of compliments from viewers.
One wrote on Twitter: “Just to say you’re looking absolutely fantastic right now Carol AND your happiness is shining through, it’s lovely to see.”
Another added: “Is @carolkirkwood not the loveliest human being ever?”
A third tweeted: “Just love the hairdo this morning Carol and you’re looking very trim I must say.”
Earlier this week, Carol was left mortified after making a blunder on-air.
Owing to the Easter break, Sally Nugent and Jon Kay were replaced as they enjoyed the Bank Holiday.
In their place was BBC Breakfast regular Nina Warhurst and BBC North West Tonight star Roger Johnson.
However, as Carol handed back to the studio following her bulletin she mistook Roger for Jon in hilarious scenes.
As she wrapped up the report, 60 year old Carol simply said: “Nina and Jon.”
At first, professional Nina swiftly carried on as Roger silently chuckled to himself before she addressed the incredible mistake.
Nina, 42, said back to Carol: “Thank you so much Carol – by the way this is Roger!”
The studio plummeted into an awkward silence as Carol gasped and put her hand to her mouth in utter shock as she realised her unfortunate mix-up.
Nina and Roger began to laugh as Carol said “who did I say,” appearing to forget which name she had used in her flurried state.
Roger jokingly remarked: “I’ve been called far worse.”
