Four Man Utd players expecting Premier League loans next season - View
Manchester United currently have several talented youngsters in their squad and a number of them are expected to be loaned out for the 2023/24 campaign.
Erik ten Hag could ideally prefer to send them to fellow Premier League clubs such that they can gain more experience before breaking into the United set-up.
Here are four emerging talents that could do so next season.
Alvaro Fernandez
The left-back has been hugely impressive in his first senior season. He is currently on loan at Preston North End where he has made 37 appearances.
The 20-year-old had a slow start to the campaign after an ankle injury but has been in fine form since his return, contributing six assists for the Lilywhites.
Preston are currently just outside of the play-off places in the Championship. If they manage to secure promotion, we could see Fernandez rejoining them.
The youngster is unlikely to break into Ten Hag’s plans in the near future with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia ahead of him in the pecking order.
Ethan Laird
Laird featured for the Red Devils during pre-season but he was loaned out to Queen Park Rangers with Ten Hag due to the competition for places.
The 21-year-old right-back has only three goal involvements this term but has excelled defensively with 1.7 tackles and six duels won per appearance.
The club graduate definitely has plenty of potential and the next step for his development could be a loan stint with a Premier League club next season.
Similar to Fernandez, he may not break into the first-team plans just yet with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka being regulars under Ten Hag.
Anthony Elanga
Elanga caught the eye with his performances under interim boss Ralf Rangnick last year but his minutes have drastically reduced under Ten Hag this term.
He has played less than 700 minutes of first-team football. The youngster will be desperate for at least a loan stint, given he is already a regular with Sweden.
The 20-year-old was linked with clubs such as Everton and Bournemouth from the Premier League in January but Ten Hag was reluctant to loan him out.
The manager did not want Elanga to be affected by the relegation pressure but the Dutchman could allow him to leave on a temporary deal this summer.
Facundo Pellistri
Pellistri only made his debut for United in January this year. The youngster has shown glimpses of his quality from the right wing but is expected to leave on loan.
The 21-year-old is almost an undisputed starter for Uruguay but he has struggled to break into United’s starting line-up due to the heavy competition from Antony.
In our view, Amad Diallo could break into Ten Hag’s plans after his positive loan stint at Sunderland and this could directly impact the position of Pellistri at the club.
United plan to negotiate a new long-term deal with the youngster before sending him out on a temporary deal. It could be to another Premier League outfit.
