Discontent is simmering within Karnataka's ruling BJP over the party's candidate list for the 10 May Assembly polls, with several out-of-favour aspirants resigning from the primary membership of the party. BJP MLC Laxman Savadi resigned from the party after being denied the ticket from Athani, while Minister and six-time MLA S Angara and Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat retired from politics after they were overlooked by the party. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the party will speak to all those disgruntled and protect their political future.
