Novato man booked in theft, drug case

A Novato man was arrested after investigators found a stolen bike and evidence of drug sales at his residence, police said.

The owner of the bike contacted police on Monday afternoon after seeing it offered for sale online. He told police the bike was stolen about two months ago in Sonoma County.

Investigators identified a Marin County probationer as the suspect and contacted him at a residence on Center Road. Investigators found the bike along with evidence of marijuana and other drugs being processed for sale, according to the Novato Police Department.

Erik Brandon Diaz, 20, of Novato was booked into the county jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of drugs for sale and violating his probation terms. His bail amount was set at $30,000, and he remained in custody Tuesday evening.
