Novato police arrest suspect in home burglary
Novato police arrested a suspect after an interrupted residential burglary in the San Marin neighborhood.
The crime happened at about 2 p.m. Monday on Partridge Drive, according to police Lt. Sophia Winter. A resident came home, realized a burglary had occurred and discovered the suspect was still at the property.
The burglar fled. Police interviewed witnesses who saw the suspect running away, and they found him at a nearby residence on Woodleaf Court. They also found evidence linking him to the crime, Winter said.
Travis Emory Speck, 23, of Novato was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of burglary. Bail was set at $50,000. He remained in custody Tuesday evening.
