I cleared the shelves in Sainsbury when I clocked the Easter eggs reduced to 39p
EASTER has been and gone but if you haven’t had your fill of chocolate eggs just yet you can still get your hands on some for a bargain price.
One savvy shopper noticed the chocolate eggs in Sainsbury’s had been reduced on a recent shopping trip, and some of them cost as little as 39p.
The woman cleared the shelves when she realised the prices had been slashed by so much.
Posting on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the shopper showed off her bargain buys.
She wrote: “Just got these Easter egg bargains, from my local Sainsbury’s. Loads were still available when I left.”
The eggs weren’t small ones either, but rather huge ones still in their boxes, although some of the packaging was slightly damaged.
The chocolate haul included a large Cadbury Dairy Milk egg with Caramel bars for 64p, a Cadbury Creme Egg one for 64p, a KitKat egg with mini Easter bunnies for 74p and a Galaxy Enchanted Eggs one for just 39p.
The Easter eggs were previously priced at £14.99 to £12.99, so it’s safe to say the Sainsbury’s shopper got a great deal, with the four eggs costing less than the price of one originally.
Fellow shoppers couldn’t believe they’d been reduced so much already.
Some were so shocked be to mega cheap offers they rushed to their local store to stock up.
“I might do Easter a week after everyone else,” one joked.
A second said: “I need to do another egg hunt with the kids look how cheap that is.”
Meanwhile, others confessed they’d buy more than four if they saw so many reduced.
“I’d buy them all at that price, makes me laugh as before Easter they were probably a tenner each,” one commented
But not everyone was lucky enough to get their hands on the discounted treats as some said their local shops had already sold out.
“Went to three supermarkets yesterday hunting for an Easter egg bargain and all three had not one egg left let alone any reduced, gutted,” one wrote.
