0

WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Golf Falcons took home both KCAC Golfer of the Week awards, as Gerardo Alemany (SO/Valencia, Venezuela) is the winner for the men and Emily Hill (FR/Columbiana, Ohio) captures top honors on the women's side, the league office announced today (Apr. 10).

Alemany produced a second-round score of 70 that tied for the best total of the second day to help the Falcons finish third as a team this past week at the Prairie Dunes Collegiate in Hutchinson, Kan.

A native of Valencia, Venezuela, Alemany's overall score of 73-70-143 was tops among all KCAC competitors.

"Gerardo continues to get better and better!" said Friends Director of Golf and men's golf head coach Dustin Galyon. "His mental game and confidence have continued to improve over the year. He is a tireless worker and his best golf is yet to come!"

For the Falcon Women, Hill recorded a top-three finish at this past week's Air Capital Classic with a two-day total of 84-85-169.

"Emily is such a great athlete and I am so happy for her!" said Friends women's golf head coach Paul Howe.

The Men's Golf Falcons are currently competing at the Midwest Spring National Collegiate in Manhattan, Kan. prior to next week's KCAC Conference Championship, while the Women's Golf Falcons will next participate at the Missouri Baptist University Invitational next week (Apr. 17-18) in Alton, Ill.
