Pre-race drama for Peugeot

The #93 Peugeot 9X8 has not headed out to the starting grid for today’s race. Instead, the car is being worked on on in its garage during the build-up, as the mechanics change the car’s steering rack.

The car will not make it out to the grid, and will start a lap down from the pi lane. It qualified ninth.

Starting drivers

The starting drivers for today’s race have been set, with Sebastien Buemi set to lead the field at the start of the race in the #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010.

In LMP2, Doriane Pin will start the #63 Prema ORECA, while GTE Am pole-winner Ben Keating will start the race in the #33 Corvette.

Final grid

Due to the grid penalty for the #22 United ORECA for Phil Hanson’s infraction, the starting grid for the race will be slightly different to the qualifying classification.

The easiest way to follow today’s 6 Hours of Portimao wherever you are in the world is via the mobile/tablet app and the FIA WEC TV site, which will broadcast the entire race with world feed commentary from Martin Haven, Anthony Davidson and Graham Goodwin, with Louise Beckett in pit lane.

On TV in Europe, Eurosport will broadcast the WEC action across Europe including Portugal, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain where the majority of the six-hour race will be shown on Eurosport 2.
