Watch Justin Turner Hit First Red Sox Home Run, Give Boston Lead

Justin Turner deposited his first Red Sox home run into the Green Monster seats Sunday afternoon.

The 386-foot blast off of a fastball from Los Angeles Angels left-hander Reid Detmers gave Boston a 2-1 advantage in the third inning. Turner brought in Alex Verdugo, who ripped a one-out single to center field earlier in the frame.

Check it out the go-ahead longball, which had an exit velocity of 103.2 mph.

Turner’s home run would have been a homer in 29 of the 30 Major League Baseball ballparks. It was the 38-year-old’s first round-tripper since early September of last year.
