James Maddison transfer news – next club odds: Spurs odds HALVED to sign Leicester ace but still trail Newcastle

NEWCASTLE remain the favourites to sign Leicester and England star James Maddison this summer.

But Tottenham’s odds have been HALVED by Sky Bet as they firmly enter the race to sign him.

The 26-year-old will have spent five seasons with the east Midlands club come the end of the season.

With only a year remaining on his current deal, Leicester are likely to cash in while they can.

That will be accelerated should their current issues continue, with the Foxes toiling in the relegation zone.

Dropping into the Championship is likely to see an exodus of their top players, most notably Maddison.

Newcastle are deemed to be the most likely side to prize the England international from the Foxes and are 2/1 frontrunners.

The Magpies are chasing a top four spot and are odds-on to do so after a stunning season so far.

The club are bound to strengthen further in the summer, with the owners certain to back the manager in the transfer window.

But they now look set to face competitionn from Spurs, who’ve had their odds slashed from 6/1 to 3/1 to be his next club.

Spurs are battling with Newcastle for that last Champions League spot after a poor set of results towards the end of Antonio Conte’s reign and his since his departure.

They face another rebuild this summer under a new manager, with Maddison likely to be linked heavily with that.

Manchester City (5/1) and Arsenal (9/1) are two other Premier League sides fancied to be in the conversation.

While Bayern Munich, linked with several English midfielder already, are a new inclusion in the betting at 12/1.
