WILLIAM SALIBA is reportedly ready to risk further injury so that he can be back for Arsenal’s title run-in.

The centre-back has missed the last four matches with a back problem.

Saliba is ready to begin training on grass this week but will have to be managed day-to-day.

The Mail report that the 22-year-old wants to put his body on the line to potentially play against Southampton this Friday and in the huge clash versus Manchester City on April 26.

However, Gunners medics are cautious over his comeback and fear that speeding up his rehabilitation could cause more damage to his lower back.

Arsenal are aware of Saliba’s importance and are deliberating whether it is a risk worth taking.

Mikel Arteta’s side have not kept a clean sheet in the four games that Rob Holding has played in instead of the Frenchman.

The team going for their first Premier League title since 2004 have also thrown away two-goal leads against both Liverpool and West Ham in their previous outings.

Prior to his injury, Saliba had started in all 27 league matches.

Arsenal currently sit top of the table, four points ahead of Man City.

However, momentum is now with Pep Guardiola’s side, who are in incredible form and have a game in hand.

There is reported belief amongst the Arsenal camp that the meeting between the top two next Wednesday will decide where the title is going.
