Rival Commanders in Sudan Agree to 24-Hour Cease-Fire

Khartoum, Sudan - The leaders of Sudan's warring parties agreed to a one-day cease-fire that was set to begin Tuesday evening.

Al Arabia TV cited Lieutenant General Shams el Din Kabbashi, a member of Sudan's ruling military council, as saying the military would honor the 24-hour cease-fire starting at 6 p.m. local time, or 1600 UTC.
