[Softball] Summers Tabbed as CCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

CHICAGO – Junior pitcher Laila Summers (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the Saint Xavier University softball team (25-11/12-2 CCAC) when the awards were announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Summers went 3-0 with a 0.36 earned run average (ERA) in 19.0 innings with 12 strikeouts and threw two shutouts, including the 13th Perfect Game in program history and was just the seventh pitcher to achieve the accomplishment for the Cougars. She also added a save, giving her a team-best two on the year. It is the second time in her career that she has won CCAC Pitcher of the Week, claiming the honor last season on March 8, 2022.
