I grew up in a castle my dad built, my face is cemented onto walls and we have a rainforest room – but there’s a catch

A WOMAN has opened up on her fairy tale life, where she lives in a castle her father built from scratch for their family.

As youngsters, we’re often told stories of princesses in castles before they go on an incredible adventure, changing the course of their life. Or the other way around, where they go from rags to riches, eventually ending up in a palace.

But for one woman, this is her reality.

Christina lives in a 35 square foot fortress in Woodstock, located in Connecticut, US, with her father Chris Mark, who built the palace.

According to their website, Christina and her sister Vivien dreamed of being princesses as children and Chris “wanted to make that dream a reality”.

Now, Christina shares snippets of their lives on their TikTok channel @thechrismarkcastle, where they show off every detail from the rainforest room built into the basement to Christina’s side profile cemented onto the walls outside.

In one video, Christina could be seen dressed in a yellow ball gown adorned with jewels, which she paired with a tiara.

Her long flowing blonde curls framed her face as she walked across a bridge from the castle, which featured stone exteriors with gothic windows and two towers.

Another video saw her zoom in on her friend’s face as she looked in disbelief at seeing Christina’s childhood face cemented into the stone walls outside.

“My friend’s reaction when she saw my face cemented onto my house,” she wrote over the clip as her pal lip synced to a voice that said: “Shut up, it is not. No, it’s not.”

“I was 5 when the water scupper was made,” she wrote in the caption.

In another clip, she shared a quote that explained how a person’s room is a reflection of their mind.

Following this, she showed off several areas of her dimly lit bedroom, which had a large bed with a gothic bed frame, large windows with extravagant curtains and a fireplace.

And the house even has a rainforest room in the basement, complete with a stone path and a small pond.

“This used to be our garage!” she told viewers in the caption.

And while it’s a princess dream come true, there does appear to be one downside to living in a castle: the wifi.

In a hilarious video, Chris could be seen at the top of a spiral staircase as he called out: “Christina!” while she was at a completely different set of stairs.

“Yeah?” she yelled back.

Another person then entered the scene in a completely different room as she shouted: “What’s all this yelling?”

Christina’s dad then appeared downstairs, where he asked: “Is dinner ready?”

“When the castle wifi is so bad so u have to yell everything,” [sic] she wrote over the skit.

In the caption, she added: “the walls are thick asf,” [sic] followed by a laughing emoji.

Viewers were quick to comment on the videos as one person said Christina’s got the “1# dad award,” [sic] to which she responded: “he’s the best,” [sic] with a red heart emoji.

Another said: “Need a home like this one day.”

A third added: “How does it feel to live my dream?!”

While another revealed the family are selling it on a real estate website called Zillow. The listing states they’re asking for $29,995,000, which is £24,134,876.

Built in 2010, it has 400 acres of land with a lake and a private well, while the castle itself has nine bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces, plus an under house garage.
