The former Congress president was asked to leave the premises by 22nd April, following his disqualification from Lok Sabha after his conviction in a defamation case, which lead to a two-year sentence by a Surat court for his 'Modi surname' remark. He had shifted his office and some personal belongings from the bungalow to his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence on April 14.
