Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen (hand) out indefinitely

Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen is sidelined indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his broken left hand, the team announced Saturday.

Teravainen, 28, sustained the injury after being slashed by New York Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau during the third period of Carolina's 4-3 overtime victory on Wednesday. The Hurricanes hold a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round series he
