Woman bought an engagement ring for £1 at a charity shop but everyone’s saying the same thing
A WOMAN has been left amazed by her luck over bagging an engagement ring for just £1 from a charity shop.
But when people began sharing their theory behind the ring, Ellie couldn’t help but question whether her purchase was a good idea.
Dressed in a white vest top with a grey jumper, the brunette beauty explained that she simply had a feeling that she should go to her favourite charity shop on her way home when the event occurred.
“So there’s a woman in there and she’s saying, ‘This is my engagement ring,’” @elliepaage shared. “She’s saying this to the man, ‘This is my engagement ring and I don’t want it and I don’t want any of the money that would come from selling it.
“‘I don’t want anything to do with this man, I don’t want anything from him.’”
When the store employee asked if the woman was sure about this decision, Ellie explained that she said she wanted them to sell it for just £1, adding that it would be the “lucky day” of anyone who bought it.
She continued: “And you want it to be your lucky day, so you go up to the woman and you’re like, ‘I’ll buy it. List it right now and I’ll buy it right now.’
“And you buy it for a pound… You also buy a Regatta fleece for a fiver. And now you’re wearing this woman’s engagement ring.
“And you can’t get it valued because it’s a bank holiday and you have no idea how much this ring is that you own right now. So now it’s a big fat mystery for a few days whether you’re rich or not…”
“But in the meantime, you have a really pretty ring,” Ellie added as she showed off the buy to viewers.
The marquise-shaped ring featured a gold band with a grey-like stone in the middle.
“WHAT A DAY,” she wrote in the caption.
The video prompted many people to share their theories as to why the woman could have wanted to get rid of the ring so badly.
“Imagine she was just trying to get rid of it bc it’s haunted,” [sic] one person said, to which Ellie replied: “don’t even speak that into existence”. [sic]
A second shared: “Curse has successfully been passed on”.
Another wrote: “This looks like my friends haunted ring she’s been trying to get rid of for months”. [sic]
Ellie responded: “why do people keep saying it’s haunted im so freaked!!” [sic]
And a fourth added: “If its not an Eden garden around €2,475 then maybe a Argos. £9.95”. [sic]
“tbf he left her for someone else so my moneys on argos,” [sic] Ellie replied.
