It’s Been Tough Season – Everton Star Feels Struggle Taking Its Toll

Sean Dyche’s side are scrapping for their Premier League sides and have spent most of the season with the threat of relegation hanging over them.

They were desperate for three points from their trip to the capital, but came up short with a 0-0 draw and had Mason Holgate sent off with ten minutes left.

Tarkowski feels that Everton did defend well at Selhurst Park to make sure their backline was not breached, but stressed that the tough season may be takings its toll.

The Toffees defender is clear that the side need more from their attackers as they look to battle their way out of trouble.

“We were quite disappointed, we’re in a real battle and we need more. We had the opportunity to pick up three points”, Tarkowski was quoted as saying by the BBC.

“To grind it out with 10 men is nice but there’s way more from us.

“We defended well, we had conceded a few goals recently so that’s a plus but we need to do more and expect more from our forward players.

“We have some really talented boys but we need more from them.

“It has been a tough season and maybe we are losing that confidence. The players we have got are super super talented boys.

“The season has not finished now so I don’t look at the table, there’s six games to go.”

Next up for Everton is another crucial Premier League clash with Newcastle United to visit St James’ Park on Thursday.
