The best hybrid cars under $30,000 that save gas money without forcing you to go fully electric

But there's still one critical problem on most buyers' minds: range anxiety.

One way to alleviate range anxiety is with a hybrid car: you get some of the fuel savings of electricity without the added hassle of charging. Hybrids this year became the most popular type of electric vehicle in terms of units sold.

Plug-in hybrids need charging and can typically drive up to 40 miles using only electricity. Conventional hybrids don't use plugs and are typically much cheaper, by comparison, but can still save significant gas mileage on city streets.

Kelley Blue Book compiled the best hybrid options under $30,000, which is not a bad deal as the average price of new cars creeps past $45,000. Here they are:
