Rowing Australia honours the Anzacs

Rowing Australia is proud to honour the nation’s servicemen and women as we join with sports around the nation on Anzac Day.

Rowing has a long association with the armed forces and celebrates that tradition through the annual King’s Cup, which was first won by the AIF’s No 1 crew in the Royal Henley Peace Regatta in 1919. That event was staged to raise the spirits and aid the recovery of Allied nations after the First World War.

We salute our veterans across every branch of the armed services, pay tribute to those who continue to serve today and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Lest We Forget.
