Actual sunshine visible as the day got started, but we have a 100% chance of rain today and tomorrow. Conditions were pretty clean thanks to a light northerly breeze. Swell was 1.2 metres and primarily out of the east at close to 13 seconds apart. This combo was producing waist to around shoulder-high wave faces at the best exposures on the best sets. Tide was dropping to the low at 1005 when I grabbed this morning’s snaps, so the beach breaks were looking dumpy, so you’ll want to be taking a good look before committing to the take-offs.
The rain should be happening by lunch time, but if you don’t mind getting more wet when you’re getting wet, there could be surfable conditions all day
Weather Situation
A strong high pressure ridge extending to the north coast is directing a north to northeasterly airstream along the coast. Winds will strengthen in the north today while ahead of a cold front bringing a fresh southerly change to the southern waters. A low pressure system is expected to form inshore along central parts of the New South Wales coast late Saturday or early Sunday, resulting in a strengthening southerly stream in the south. Winds are expected to ease from Monday as the low moves offshore.
