I’m a woman in construction – OSHA wouldn’t approve of all of my methods, including how I reach the ceiling

WORKING in construction can get dirty, but one woman embraces the muck and mess.

She shared an inside look at her drywall expertise and won over men with her risk-taking ingenuity.

Drywall repair specialist Kaylor Lang (@kaylorlang) lives in South Dakota, where she works full-time in the construction industry.

She posts clips of her work to TikTok and proves she’ll go to any lengths to make sure a job is done well.

In one video, she recorded a timelapse of a home construction project and sent a message loud and clear to men who were watching.

The video showed her cutting away pieces of the wall at warp speed.

Lang mixed drywall in a bucket, then set to work preparing her surfaces for treatment.

Using her tools, Lang worked carefully and diligently, leaving every wall with a smooth, clean finish.

She got creative and stood on countertops, scaffoldings, and stilts to reach high areas.

At one point, she placed an overturned bucket on a scaffolding and stood atop it to reach the ceiling.

In the caption, Lang admitted she knew it was not the approach advised by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

“OSHA would not approve,” she wrote sheepishly in the video’s description.

As she worked, a TikTok voiceover issued a vital message to men who may be watching.

“If you’re going to try to date an independent chick, make sure you are very secure with yourself,” the audio said.

“They do not need you. They want you,” it continued. “There’s a big difference.”

As Lang wrapped up her project, the voice said, “An independent woman is not made for an insecure man. That’s facts.”

Men in the comments seemed impressed by Lang’s skills as well as her craftsmanship, and complimented her with respect.

One man praised her even work. “Smooth,” he wrote in the comment section.

“Awesome,” said another, wowed by Lang’s video and maybe a little scared of the accompanying audio warning.
